East Boldre Oral History Project - Wartime Memories
None of the interviewees are old enough to remember the WW1 military flying school at East Boldre but during WW2, troops were camped on the heath near the village hall and a three-runway aerodrome was built on Beaulieu Heath which is in East Boldre Parish.
This photo shows Beaulieu Camp, neat East Boldre Village Hall in 1939.
