East Boldre School Fields Trust Hall and Playground

East Boldre School Fields Trust is a Registered Charity No. 299118

After the village school closed in the 1980s, a charity called 'The East Boldre School Fields Trust' was set up to manage the field and hall as a recreation ground for the use of local people. A newly established tennis club raised the funds to build and run two courts.

The Trust is managed by a committee of volunteers who represent the community and the tennis club.

In 1999 a Community Lottery grant enabled us to rebuild the playground and add the basketball / skateboard area and in 2003 we obtained lottery and council grants to improve the building too. We are delighted with it! The hall is available to hire for regular meetings and daytime functions.

The site is not a local authority facility and receives no regular funding, so we have to raise funds continually to maintain it. If you would like to contribute or would like to be involved in running the site please use our Contact Page or phone Hollie Scott (Chairperson) or find us on Facebook.

The Field

The main field is large; though smaller than a full size football pitch, it is ideal for other formal and informal active games.

There is a flat tarmac area, often used for learning to ride bikes as well as for the intended use of ball games like football, netball and basketball and for skateboarding.

There is an activity playground with swings and climbing equipment and smaller pieces of play equipment for the Under 5`s. There are numerous picnic benches across the site.

These outdoor facilities are open to all and cannot be privately hired.

Facilities in the Hall

The Main Hall

• Size 7 x 7 metres approximately.
• It opens through french doors onto a covered veranda.
• There is a permanent hatch into the kitchen.
• Chairs and tables are available.
• Disabled access to the hall from the car park is via the entrance on the veranda

The Kitchen

• Cooking facilities, fridge freezer, cutlery and crockery are available.

Heating

• The use of electric heaters is included in the hire charge, although there may be an additional cost.

Toilets

• There are gents' and a ladies' /disabled facility indoors and nappy changing facilities indoors. The outside toilet is locked usually.

Playground

• A large field, climbing equipment, swings, hard surface area with small ramps and two goals are all available for use but cannot be booked for exclusive use.

Car Park

• The hall has a large car park with allocated disabled parking space. If the car park is full visitors should use the driveway to Lynton House and park at the bottom of the main field.
